HP Tuners GM E90 / T93 Upgrade Kit

The HP Tuners GM E90 / T93 Upgrade Kit is intended for supported GM vehicles equipped with an E90 ECM and T93 TCM. It enables the upgrade process for compatible control modules without removing them from the vehicle.

This kit is designed for professional tuners, workshops and experienced users who want to work on supported GM vehicles with the HP Tuners VCM Suite. The upgrade process can be performed directly in the workshop or garage and helps reduce the risk of damaging control modules during removal or reinstallation.

The GM E90 ECM is used in selected 2019–2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 models with 5.3L and 6.2L V8 engines. This includes L84 and L87 applications in pre-facelift models without Global B architecture.

Current note regarding the GM T93 TCM: According to HP Tuners, as of March 17, 2026, the GM T93 TCM no longer needs to be upgraded via send-in service or with this upgrade kit. For supported applications, the T93 TCM can be licensed and tuned as normal directly via OBDII. The GM E90 ECM still requires an upgrade using this kit or an appropriate service.

A compatible HP Tuners interface is required for use. This kit is only compatible with MPVI3 and MPVI4 interfaces. MPVI, MPVI2 and MPVI2+ interfaces are not compatible with this kit. The latest version of the VCM Suite software is also required.

After the upgrade has been completed, supported functions such as diagnostics, data logging, reading, editing and writing calibrations are available through the VCM Suite. According to HP Tuners, no IMMO relearn, crank relearn or “Replace ECM” function is required when using this kit.

Important: Universal Credits are not included with this kit and must be purchased separately. The GM E90 ECM requires 6 Universal Credits for licensing after the upgrade. The GM T93 TCM may require 4 Universal Credits depending on the application.

In the box: The kit includes an HPTNet cable for GM E90 ECM, an HPTNet cable for GM T93 TCM, an upgrade box and an upgrade cable.
